Macomb Feminist Network Honors Three

MACOMB, IL - The Macomb Feminist Network (MFN) honored three local women Saturday, March 7, for their accomplishments in making a difference in the lives of others in Macomb and McDonough County.

A reception and program were held at Western Illinois University's Multicultural Center, honoring Lois Ganyard, Suzan Nash and Margaret Ovitt as this year's recipients of the Writing Women into History Award. After being recognized, each honoree shared vignettes from their life stories.

Ganyard was nominated for her award by Mary Warnock, while Nash was nominated by Janice Welch, and Ovitt was nominated by her daughter, Lisa Kernek.

A monetary contribution in honor of each recipient will be made by the MFN to an organization or charity group. Habitat for Humanity will receive the gift to honor Ganyard; The Western Illinois Regional Council will receive the gift to honor Suzan Nash; and the Prairie Land Conservancy will receive the gift to honor Ovitt.
