MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University President Jack Thomas and Alumni Programs Director Amy Spelman will host a special Alumni and Friends event in St. Louis Thursday, Oct. 8 to share the University's updates and future goals.

Alumni and friends are invited to attend the complimentary event, which will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 8 at Kemoll's (Top of the Met), 211 N. Broadway St., St. Louis. A brief program will begin at 6:45 p.m., which will feature Thomas and other University officials outlining Western's Missouri-area recruitment efforts and partnership opportunities, along with updates on WIU's recent achievements and more.

"We would like to invite not only our alumni and friends to this event, but St. Louis-area businesses, corporations and organizations to learn more about Western and what our great University can provide the citizens of this region," Thomas noted.

Among the goals for Western's presence in this metro region are enhanced student recruitment efforts, working with the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce on future business partnerships, marketing WIU's academic programs including the Executive MBA and other online programs and certification programs such as law enforcement and corporate sponsorships.
