MACOMB, IL – With the third annual Western Illinois University Dance Marathon just under one week away, students are still busy raising money as part of the yearlong campaign to raise funds and awareness for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater St. Louis.

This week has been designated DM Week, with events planned each day to raise money. Throughout the week, Buffalo Wild Wings in Macomb is offering 10 percent from each meal purchased to the Dance Marathon, when they have the necessary coupon.

On Tuesda, there will be Dum Dum Drives outside of the Macomb Hy-Vee and Walmart stores. The events are a competition between teams to gather donations. Wednesday, information tables about the marathon will be set up in the University Union.

Thursday, a bowling fundraiser is planned at Digger's College City Bowl from 10 p.m.-midnight. The event is $10 per person or $55 per team of six and $12 per person at the door.

Early check-in for the marathon will be held in the Union Thursday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.

The Dance Marathon will be held Saturday, Feb. 13 from noon-midnight in the University Union Grand Ballroom. The goal for this year's event is $70,000. The 2014 event raised $22,000, and the 2015 event raised $53,000.

The money raised is divided between St. Louis Children's Hospital and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. If a child from Macomb were to get sick, he or she would likely receive medical care from one of the two hospitals.
