Behind the bricks and mortar, there are the people of Western Illinois University and the Macomb community.

Who I Am: Ketra Russell. I am a daughter, sister, and friend. I am dedicated, loyal and family-centered hard worker.

What I Do: I am an assistant director in University Housing and Dining Services. I oversee the UHDS budget, Sodexo contract, and also assist in the University Budget Office and with the University's Go West operation.

Why I Love WIU: I am a WIU alumna, and as a student, the faculty and staff provided great mentorship to further my education. Now that I am a staff member, every day I get to come to work and enjoy what I do for an institution that I have a lot of pride in. I love serving and getting to interact with the students at WIU. The community here is irreplaceable.

Who I Am: Megan Merges. I am from Lindenhurst IL, a small town right outside of Gurnee, Illinois (Six flags-Great America, as everyone well knows). My mother is an elementary school teacher and my father owns his own company. I have a younger sister. I am very athletic, outgoing, adventurous, and loud.

What I Do: I am an exercise student and I am a member of ESSA.

Why I Love WIU: WIU is my second home, and everyone here is like one big family. This University is the most welcoming, outgoing, and energetic in Illinois. Western means a lot to me in the way that this University taught me how to live on my own, it brought my best friends into my life, and has given me so many opportunities in life that would not even imagine would be possible if I did not come here.
