Smith selected for Centennial Honors Scholarship

MACOMB, IL – High school senior Dakota Smith, of Peoria (IL), has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which awards $10,000 per year to academically high-achieving students.

High school students with an ACT score of 30 or higher and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Smith plans to major in finance and pre-medicine in hopes of attending medical school after graduation.

When deciding on a major, Smith stated, "Western has a great finance program that I believe will be a perfect fit for me."

In high school, Smith was a freshman advisor and participated in LEAF club.
