Arts in the Parks Presentation

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois to host an "Art in the National Parks" presentation by WIU Music Professor James Romig and Ashlee Mack, head of piano instruction at Knox College. The presentation will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, in the Malpass Library Garden Lounge.

Romig and Mack will expand conceptions of what "art in the parks" might mean and share their experiences as artists-in-residence in the National Parks.

Romig and Mack have participated in artist-in-residence programs at the Petrified Forest National Park, Grand Canyon National Park and Wupatki National Monument. In December, Romig and Mack will travel to Everglades National Park. Romig will work on a concerto for piano and orchestra that Mack will perform with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony in 2018.

The presentation is open free to the public. Light refreshments will be served after the talk.
