First Wednesday Art Classes April 1 at WIU

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Department of Art will host another session of First Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 5 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex and the University Art Gallery.

The event is open to anyone who wants to experience art. This month's schedule includes:

• Professors Julie Mahoney, Jan Clough and Bill Howard will teach about cyanotype prints in Garwood Hall, room 13.

• Professor Ta-teh Ku will teach about artmaking for children – Easter egg decoration in Garwood Hall, room 24.

• Professor Terry Rathje will teach about the art of stop motion animation in Garwood Hall, room 22.

• Professor Jenny Knavel will teach about sienna tone photographs with a vintage effect in Garwood Hall, room 37. There will be one print made per group and photo taking stops at 8:30 p.m.

• Professor Tim Waldrop will teach about palette knife painting in Garwood Hall, room 30.

• Professor Ian Shelly will teach about wheel throwing in room 111 of the Heating Plant Annex.

• Professor Kat Myers will teach about wrapped wire bead pendants in room 107 of the Heating Plant Annex.

• Professor Duke Oursler will teach about portrait studies in clay in room 105 of the Heating Plant Annex.

The University Art Gallery will also be open late, featuring two exhibits.
