First Wednesday Art Program Sept. 6 at WIU

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Department of Art will host the initial First Wednesday program of the semester, from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex and the WIU Art Gallery.

The event is open to free anyone who wants to experience art. This month's schedule includes:

Monotypes – WIU art professors Julie Mahoney, Jan Clough and Bill Howard, Garwood Hall, 13.

Shirt Silkscreening – Professors Jenny Knavel and Susan Czechowski, Garwood Hall, 11. Those attending should bring their own t-shirt to work with.

Art Making for Children – Associate Professor Ta-teh Ku and WIU art education students, Garwood Hall, 24.

Graphic Design – Professors Terry Rathje and Bruce Walters, Garwood Hall, 22.

Painting Workshop – Professor Damon McArthur, Garwood Hall, 30.

Sculpture – Associate Professor Duke Oursler, Heating Plant Annex, 105.

Wire Wrapped Pendant – Art Chair Kat Myers and WIU metalsmithing students, Heating Plant Annex, 107.

The WIU Art Gallery will also be open during the First Wednesday event.
