2017-2018 WIU Admissions Ambassadors

MACOMB, IL -- Students telling the story of Western Illinois University is a crucial part of the recruitment process, and 19 WIU undergraduate students are serving as Admissions Ambassadors this year, leading tours and taking part in other Office of Admissions programs.

According to Drew Donahoo, associate director of admissions, the ambassadors provide campus tours to prospective Leathernecks and their families 11 times per week. They also conduct campus tours for visiting high school and community groups, assist with Discover Western and Experience Western programs and implement the University's telecounseling outreach to prospective students.

Admissions Ambassadors include: Aaron Blakley, senior accountancy major from Chicago; Becca Bocian, senior microbiology major from Lake in the Hills; Meisha Brown, senior law enforcement and justice administration major from Davenport, IA; Annika Carter, junior hospitality management major from Sterling; Ian Dela Merced, junior nursing major from South Elgin; Elexus King, sophomore accountancy major from Maywood; Branden Kmetz, sophomore law enforcement and justice administration major from Wonder Lake; Derek Lahey, sophomore supply chain management major from Mechanicsburg; Gabby Love, junior psychology major from Oswego; Zach Martin, junior sports broadcasting major from Davenport, IA; Katie Magliano, junior cyber security major from Chicago; Dalila Ngubani, sophomore social work major from Chicago; Hayley Porter, sophomore social work major from Oregon; Lance Robinette, sophomore supply chain management major from Romeoville; Becky Shaw, junior history major from Clinton, IA; Margarita Sotelo, junior political science major from Cicero; Brittany Taylor, junior law enforcement and justice administration major from Alvin; Jeff Waisganis, sophomore social work major from Mount Propsect; and Ryan Zurek, senior Spanish major from Lisle.

Prospective students interested in receiving a campus tour from an Admissions Ambassador can schedule an appointment at wiu.edu/visit or by email at Admissions@wiu.edu. Campus tours are offered Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and 11 a.m. on most Saturdays.
