First Wednesday Art Program Oct. 4

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University Department of Art will host the monthly First Wednesday program from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex (HPA) and the WIU Art Gallery.

The event is open free to anyone who wants to experience art. This month's schedule includes:

Garwood Hall Activities:

Printmaking
– Professors Julie Mahoney, Jan Clough and Bill Howard, Garood Hall 13

Screenprint glow in the dark designs
– Professor Susan Czechowski, Garwood Hall 11 (bring a t-shirt to print on)

Abstract clay self-portrait project for children – Associate Professor Ta-teh Ku, Garwood Hall 24

Graphic design – Professor Bruce Walters, Garwood Hall 22

Tin type effect photography – Professor Jenny Knavel, Garwood Hall 37 (photographs will stop being taken at 8:15 p.m. to ensure time to print all of the pictures)

Palette knife painting workshop – Professor Damon McArthur, Garwood Hall 30


HPA Activities:

Sculpture
– Associate Professor Duke Oursler, HPA 105

Branded copper rings
– Professor Kat Myers, HPA 107

The WIU Art Gallery will also be open during the First Wednesday event.
