Michael Pledge Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Funeral services and visitation for Western Illinois University Professor Emeritus Michael Pledge, of San Antonio, TX, will be held beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3.
Pledge passed away Friday, Sept. 29 in Texas.
He began working at Western in 1968 in the economics department and retired in December 2000.
Pledge published numerous economics textbooks and was named a Distinguished Publisher of the Year by WIU. He was also awarded a Faculty Excellence Award and a Presidential Merit Award.
He is survived by his wife, Estela; one son, Thomas and one grandson, Justin.
