MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees unanimously approved the sale of the University's former 60th Street campus in Moline at a special meeting Oct. 1 in Macomb.

The Board approved the sale for the price of approximately $1.4 million to DJL Associates, LLC of Rock Island.

From 1997-2014, the WIU-Quad Cities campus was housed at the 60th Street location. Following the donation of 20 acres of land and property by Deere & Company, and capital funding from the state, Phase 1 of the new Riverfront campus on River Drive in Moline was constructed and opened in January 2012. Following the opening of Riverfront campus Phase II in August 2014, the University closed its 60th Street branch campus.

The next regular Board meeting will be held Dec. 14-15 in Macomb.
