MACOMB, IL – High school senior Alexis Dreyer, of Arnold, MO, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which awards $10,000 per year to academically high-achieving students.

High school students with an ACT score of 30 or higher (or SAT equivalent of 1390), and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, are eligible for the scholarship.

Dryer plans on majoring in biochemistry.

"I chose to attend Western as I liked the feel of the campus and it offers the competitive education I desire," said Dryer. "The opportunity to contribute to the University as a member of the Leatherneck's women's swim team was a big deciding factor."

In high school, Dreyer ran varsity cross-country for four years, and was a member of National Honor Society, the German Club, the Letterman's Club and the Future Business Leaders of America.
