WIU Opera Workshop Program Offering Fall Showcase Dec. 7

MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University's Opera Workshop program will present its fall showcase "Lyric Theatre Scenes" at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 in Browne Hall, room 130.
 
The showcase features students in the Opera Workshop class, and will present numerous songs, arias and scenes from the lyric theatre canon.
 
The workshop is directed by WIU Assistant Professor of Music Ricardo Sepulveda, with guest directors - WIU music graduate student Amanda Ensign, of Quincy, IL; sophomore musical theatre major Warren Freeland of Mount Carmel, IL; senior music major Zachary Palmer, of Washington, IL; and sophomore music major Spensor Randolph, of Germantown Hills, IL.

Other performers include Callen Brown, a senior music education major from Sherrard, IL; Parker Carls, a junior music major from Beardstown, IL; Rebecca Helmeid, a sophomore music major from Malta, IL; Emily Kreiman, a sophomore music major from Villa Park, IL; Benjamin Rogers, a senior music education major from Savanna, IL; and Lillian Schierbrock, a freshman music major from West Point, IA.
 
This showcase is open free to the public.
