Dorsett Named November Advisor of the Month at WIU

MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University Academic Advisor Stacy Dorsett has been named the Advisor of the Month for November.

Dorsett was nominated for the honor by a current student.

"As a returning 'older' student, I was somewhat uncomfortable and nervous, but Ms. Dorsett's demeanor and personality put me at ease, allowing me to enjoy the challenge I was about to embark on," the nominator said.

The nominator said Dorsett's knowledge and advice of what classes to take and which semesters to take them in allowed him to take nine credit hours per semester.

"She was continually in communication with me, keeping me on my academic track," the nominator said. "I have enjoyed every class she has recommended."

Each month a WIU advisor will be honored with a certificate and trophy. Award winners are decided by a committee that considers the applications each month.
