Sigma Sigma Sigma Hosts Inaugural Cancer Walk/Run Fundraiser

MACOMB, IL -- Join the women of Sigma Sigma Sigma at Western Illinois University Sunday, March 4 as they host the inaugural cancer walk/run fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Race registration, which is $20 per person, can be completed at https://tinyurl.com/yc3uusjd. Participants registering by Feb. 15 are guaranteed a race t-shirt. The race will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 4 in Chandler Park in downtown Macomb, with check-in from 10:30-10:50 a.m. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

The two-mile run/walk is co-sponsored by The Sports Corner. Winners will be announced at The Sports Corner following the race.

According to Lindy Giesler, race coordinator, she organized this inaugural event as many of the women in Sigma Sigma Sigma have been affected by cancer in some way. The American Cancer Society will be the sorority's newest philanthropy initiative, she added.
