Faculty and Guest Recital March 24 at Western

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Faculty and Guest Recital at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall. The performance will feature Loralee Songer, mezzo-soprano, John McMurtery, flute and Perry Mears, piano.
 
Songer, mezzo-soprano, is an assistant professor of music at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA, where she teaches voice, vocal pedagogy, vocal literature, diction and conducts the Chorale. She is also an active recitalist, opera and oratorio performer and conductor.

McMurtery, flute, is a professor of flute at Western Illinois University, and member of the Camerata Woodwind Quintet. He is also flutist of the New York City Opera Orchestra and principal flutist of the Peoria Symphony.

Mears, piano, currently resides in Davenport, IA, where he maintains an active teaching and performing career, works with the Pleasant Valley Community School District, and serves as the music director for St. Peter's Episcopal Church – Bettendorf.
