WIU Alumna to Perform at Western March 25

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a guest recital, featuring WIU School of Music alumna Rebecca McGuire, oboe, and pianist Minjung Seo, at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 25, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.
 
McGuire is an active soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. She currently holds the position of principal oboe with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra and is pursuing a Doctor of Music degree at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studies with Roger Roe and Linda Strommen. She holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Western Illinois University.
Minjung Seo is a WIU staff collaborative pianist.

The duo will perform works by Schumann, Ibert, Telemann and Barber.

The program will include:

Escales pour Hautbois et Piano (1922) - Jacques Ibert (1890-1962)

Canzonetta (1971) - Samuel Barber (1910-1981)
