Faculty Chamber Music Series Concert V April 4

MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University School of Music will present the Faculty Chamber Music Series Concert V, featuring resident ensembles, the Julstrom String Quartet and the Camerata Woodwind Quintet, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

This performance is open free to the public.

The Julstrom String Quartet will perform the "Oboe Quartet in F Major, K. 370" by W. A. Mozart, featuring Assistant Professor Emily Hart, oboe. The Julstrom String Quartet will also perform Sergei Rachmaninoff's "String Quartet No. 1" and Arvo Pärt's "Fratres." Members of the Julstrom String Quartet are Associate Professor Julieta Mihai, violin; Myoung-ah You, a graduate student in violin performance, from Macomb, violin; Associate Professor István Szabó, viola and Professor Moisés Molina, cello.

The Camerata Woodwind Quintet, with student guest Nathan Miner, bassoon, will perform J.S. Bach's "Prelude and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 239," arranged for woodwind quintet by Mordechai Rechtman, and Alvin Etler's "Quintet II." Members of the Camerata Woodwind Quintet are Assistant Professor John McMurtery, flute; Instructor Emily Hart, oboe; Professor Eric Ginsberg, clarinet; Professor Douglas Huff, bassoon and Professor Randall Faust, horn.
