WIU Aggies Hosting Event at Illinois State Fair

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University School of Agriculture "Aggies" organization will host a social event Friday, Aug. 10 at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield on the Director's Lawn.

The event runs from 5:30-10:30 p.m. and will include a dinner of pulled pork, coleslaw, chips and a drink; cash bar, a short program, featuring School of Agriculture Chair Emeritus Ed Breece, School of Agriculture Director Andy Baker and 1977 School of Agriculture alumnus Rock Katschnig. Then enjoy the entertainment of "Luke and the Drifters," while visiting with your fellow Leathernecks.

Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door; the price does not include parking or the gate fee. Children ages 6 and younger will be admitted free.

The event is open to all WIU Aggies, past, present and future, and friends. Money raised through the event will be used to add some WIU pride to the WIU farm.
