Faculty Chamber Music Series Concert I Wednesday

MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University School of Music will present the Faculty Chamber Music Series Concert I, featuring resident ensembles, the Camerata Woodwind Quintet and Hopper Jazztet, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The Camerata Woodwind Quintet will perform "Quintette pour instruments a vent" by Paul Taffanel, and "Aires Tropicales" by Paquito D'Rivera.
The Hopper Jazztet will perform compositions by six important female jazz instrumentalist/composers, ranging in era from the 1920s to today.
 
Members of the Camerata Woodwind Quintet are Associate Professor John McMurtery, flute; Assistant Professor Emily Hart, oboe; Professor Eric Ginsberg, clarinet; Assistant Professor Brisa de Paula, bassoon and Assistant Professor Jena Gardner, horn. Members of the Hopper Jazztet are Professor John Cooper, trumpet; Professor John Vana, saxophone; Assistant Professor George Turner, guitar; Assistant Professor Matthew Hughes, bass; Instructor Whitney Ashe, piano and Associate Professor Kevin Nichols, drums.

This performance is open free to the public.
