WIU Faculty Chamber Music Series Concert II Nov. 7

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present the Faculty Chamber Music Series Concert II, featuring resident ensembles, the LaMoine Brass Quintet and the Julstrom String Quartet, with special guest Charles Pikler, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Pikler, the former principal violist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, will also lead two masterclasses while on campus; at noon, Nov. 7, with The President's International String Quartet, and at 2 p.m. with WIU string players, in the University Union Heritage Room.
 
Members of the LaMoine Brass Quintet are Professor Bruce Briney, trumpet; graduate student Mark Lipinski, trumpet; Assistant Professor Jena Gardner, horn; Associate Professor John Mindeman, trombone, and Associate Professor Terry Solomonson, tuba. Members of the Julstrom String Quartet are Associate Professor Julieta Mihai, violin; graduate student Ramel Price, violin; Associate Professor István Szabó, viola, and Professor Moisés Molina, cello.
