MACOMB, IL -- Due to winter weather conditions, a University weather advisory has been issued for Western Illinois University's Macomb campus through 3 p.m. tomorrow (Sunday, Jan. 13). While the University is closed for the weekend, some offices may have limited office hours tomorrow for move-in weekend needs, and some employees may also be scheduled for weekend shifts. The Spring 2019 semester begins at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14.

The weather advisory allows employees the option to use accrued vacation time, compensatory time or approved leave without pay after notifying their supervisor. An employee who determines that it is not safe to travel will not be subject to discipline for being absent. Supervisors are expected to honor reasonable requests of employees to arrive late or to leave early because of inclement weather.

The WIU policy on limiting University operations because of emergency conditions is available in the Administrative Procedures Handbook, which can be viewed at wiu.edu/policies/emergency.php.
