WIU Severe Weather Club Places Third in National Poster Competition

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Severe Weather Club Placed third in a poster competition at the American Meteorological Society's (AMS) annual meeting in Phoenix, AZ in January.

Each year, the about 30 AMS student chapters create a poster to represent when the club has accomplished over the past year.

The mission of the WIU Severe Weather Club is to teach area children about weather safety at numerous schools and events. They also give regular presentations at club meetings to keep members updated on current weather events and weather products.

This year, several members of the club, one WIU faculty member and several former students attended the annual AMS meeting.
