MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Office Manager Connie Lincoln has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for February 2019.

Lincoln came to WIU in August 2011 as an office support specialist in mathematics and was then promoted to office manager in October 2012 and moved to the psychology department. In September 2015, she was reassigned to her current position in the WIU School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA).

According to Lincoln's nominators, she is very "proactive, enthusiastic and diligent in performing her duties."

"She works very hard, often carrying out activities that are more than she is required to do," said her nominator. "She is very active in the recruitment of new LEJA students, as well as aiding LEJA students in obtaining employment. She plays an indispensable role in both the LEJA Career Fair and LEJA Open House. Because of her efforts, the LEJA students are well served and aided in obtaining employment after graduation."

In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.

The WIU Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for the monthly recognition should contact Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) representative Christine Staley at CD-Staley@wiu.edu.
