Five WIU Broadcasting Students Named Finalists in NBS Competition

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University students were recently named finalists in five categories of the 57th annual National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition, held by the National Broadcasting Society (NBS).

The award winners will be announced during the March NBS convention in Los Angeles, CA, which will be attended by WIU Broadcasting and Journalism faculty Emily Manley and several students.

The finalists are:

Comedy Program Script: "Bored of Education"
Marcellus Angel, a senior broadcasting major, of Rock Island, IL

Video Newscast Segment: "Family Remembers Fallen Trooper Jerry Ellis"
Devin Brooks, a junior broadcasting and journalism major, of St. Louis, MO

Video Promos: "NEWS3 Promo": Zac Lueder, a freshman broadcasting and journalism major, of Chicago Heights, IL

Video Newscast (Live): "NEWS3 - Good Morning Macomb - Nov. 11, 2019"- Angel, Brooks, Lueder and Kelly Brown, a freshman broadcasting and journalism major and musical theatre major, of Rolla, MO
