Events Registration Form Established

March 13, 2020

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University Office of Risk Management has launched a mandatory event registration form that members of the University community and external constituents must complete before an event can be held on either WIU campus. The registration form, which will remain in effect for the remainder of the semester, can be found at bit.ly/WIUEventRegistration2020.

All events on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses with more than 50 participants that are scheduled between now and April 3, 2020 should be canceled unless deemed as essential for University operations.

According to Executive Director of Auxiliary Services and Risk Management Joe Roselieb, the purpose of this registry is to record all events and gatherings on the WIU campuses as a precautionary measure to limit the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus. Until further notice, all events will be reviewed and provided direction on whether or not the event(s) will be allowed to continue. Any gatherings that take place should practice social distancing guidelines.

The University risk manager and the president's leadership team will make decisions regarding event approval.
