Vice President for Advancement, Alumni Relations and Athletics Search

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – One candidate for the position of Western Illinois University Vice President for Advancement, Alumni Relations and Athletics will be on campus Monday-Tuesday, March 20-21.

Clare Thompson, Palmer College of Chiropractic Executive Director of Advancement, will interview on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses for two days of interviews.

Thompson has been the executive director of advancement at Palmer College of Chiropractic since December 2016. Previously, she was the vice president and a consultant for Ruffalo Noel Levitz from July 2014-December 2016; director of annual giving for the Scott County Family YMCA in Davenport, IA from July 2012-June 2014; director of development for athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from July 2011-July 2012; director of alumni and parent relations at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA, from July 2004-July 2011; senior advancement officer at St. Ambrose from 2004-07; assistant athletic director, women's basketball and golf coach at Edgewood College in Madison, WI, from July 2000-July 2004; associate athletic director and adjunct faculty at Georgetown College in Kentucky from July 1997-July 2000; director of intercollegiate athletics, women's basketball coach and adjunct faculty at Midway College in Kentucky from August 1996-July 1997; assistant athletic director, head basketball and softball coach at Marycrest International University in Davenport, IA, from July 1993-July 1996; program coordinator for the Alzheimer's Association in Davenport, IA, from June 1992-July 1993; and graduate assistant coach for women's basketball, soccer and volleyball at DePauw University in Indiana from August 1990-May 1992.

Thompson received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Marycrest College and her master's degree in sports administration from Indiana State University.
