WIU School of Music Faculty Chin and Brown to Perform Oct. 12

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Faculty Recital featuring Chinese flutist Hong-Da Chin and pianist Jeffrey Brown at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Hong-Da Chin, assistant professor of Music Composition and Theory, is an accomplished Chinese flutist specializing in contemporary music. Jeffrey Brown is the professor of Piano and director of the School of Music.

The program will include:

春到湘江 Spring in Xiang River (1976) - Ning Baosheng/arr. Qin Jian
- dizi and piano

塔塔尔舞曲 The Tatar Dance (1957) - Li Chongwang/arr. Qin Jian
- dizi and piano

吟诗 Poem Recitation (2012) - Hong-Da Chin
- dizi solo

夕阳箫鼓 The sound of the Xiao and Drum during Sunset - Traditional/arr. Li Yinghai and Qin Jian
- xiao and piano

阳关三叠 Parting at the Yang Guan Gate - Traditional/arr. Liu Kuanren
- xun solo

苍 Desolation (1991) - Yang Qing/arr. Li Yanbing
- dizi and piano

牧笛 The Herding Flute (1958) - Liu Chi/arr. Liu Sen and Qin Jian
- dizi and piano

This performance is open free for general audience seating.
