MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Multicultural Center (MCC) will host a Spring Open House from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 in the Multicultural Center (MCC). Food and refreshments will be provided along with activities, prizes, music and fun for all attendees.

"Within MCC, the individual cultural/identity based centers provide a home away from home for many students. We empower and uplift through intentional programming, legacy events and leadership opportunities in order to support our diverse student populations. We invite all members of the campus community to join us at the open house to meet our staff and students and learn more about resources and upcoming events," WIU MCC Director Katy Valentin said.

At the event, students will gain insights on the centers located within the MCC which include the Casa Latina Cultural Center, Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center, LGBT*QA Resource Center and the Women's Center. Additionally, there will be the opportunity to chat with members of the MCC student organizations and receive information on how to get involved with upcoming events and programs.

"The open house is a great opportunity to invite students to the MCC to experience an atmosphere of belonging," WIU MCC Associate Director LeRon Williams said. "We welcome all students to experience this and we look to educate them on the great organizations we house within the centers of the MCC."
