MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University’s assistant psychology professor Sandra McFadden will present “Age-Related Hearing Loss in Humans and Other Animals: Can Antioxidants Help” at 3 p.m. Friday, April 7 in Waggoner Hall 054.

McFadden will discuss data from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders and current research showing that free radicals and highly reactive molecules may be involved in hearing loss. She will also present research showing that antioxidants can protect the inner ear from damage, making it possible to prevent some age-related hearing loss in humans.
