Children's Shopping Mall

MACOMB, IL – Kids, break open that piggy bank for the annual Children’s Shopping Mall!
The ChildrenÂ’s Shopping Mall, sponsored by Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Corporation and Citizens National Bank (CNB), will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at Citizens National Bank, located on the south side of the Macomb Square. Co-sponsors include the Western Illinois University departments of marketing and dietetics, fashion merchandising and hospitality (DFMH), Delta Zeta sorority and the local Clever Clovers 4-H group,
Gift tables containing merchandise from local retailers will be set up for children ages 3 to 10 to shop for their family, friends, teachers and themselves at the holiday mall. Presents, ranging in price from $1 to $10, are sold to the children and wrapped for free.
“This event is a marvelous opportunity for the children of our community to shop for the holidays, while providing an outstanding experience for Western Illinois University students and community members to work together,” said Laura Leezer, vice president for marketing at CNB.
Parents and guardians are asked to wait in a designated area within the bank where they can enjoy refreshments while their children shop.
After the shopping expedition, children can visit Santa Claus in his log cabin on the Macomb Square.
