MACOMB, IL - - Harvest season is almost upon us, so don't miss the final opportunity to see the season's organic crops grown on Western Illinois University's Allison Organic Research and Demonstration Farm, located in southern Warren County.

Joel Gruver, assistant professor in WIU's department of agriculture, will be leading a walking twilight tour beginning at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18.

Last month, Western's agriculture department hosted a farm field day, which provided the opportunity to see the certified organic crops.

"This tour will provide another great opportunity for agriculture students, as well as other interested individuals, to see the future of Illinois agriculture," Gruver said.

According to Gruver, while the twilight tour is set for Sept. 18, he will consider adding another tour on Tuesday, Sept. 16 if he receives enough requests from interested individuals for a Sept. 16 tour.

For more information, contact Gruver at (309) 298-1172 or at J-Gruver@wiu.edu.

Location of the Allison farm:
The Allison Farm is located on the northwest corner of the intersection of County Rd. 20th Ave. N and 20th St. in Warren County (IL).
