Western's Ag Dept. Hosts Ag Day at WIU vs. UNI

MACOMB, IL -- A fall day full of fun awaits families and football fans this Saturday, Nov. 1, at Western Illinois University's "Ag Day" at Hanson Field, where the Leathernecks will take on the University of Northern Iowa Panthers.

Sponsored by WIU's agriculture department, Ag Day activities will start at 11 a.m. and will continue throughout the game.

Ag Day 2008 activities include:

  • A petting zoo;
  • Corn pit;
  • Hay maze;
  • Face painting;
  • Ag trivia;
  • Purple and gold popcorn;
  • Tree climbing;
  • GPS (global positioning system) Gator; and
  • Heritage and Birkey's equipment display.

The agriculture department also will recognize select agriculture alumni at halftime.

Most of the Ag Day activities will be held at the north end of Hanson Field (in the discus and shotput area).
