BOT Elects Officers

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees (BOT) elected officers at its June 4 meeting for the July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 year.

J. Michael Houston of Springfield (IL), chairman emeritus of Town & Country Bank in Springfield, was elected chair.

Carolyn Ehlert of Milan (IL), retired from Deere & Company as executive director of Public Affairs & Program Support, Public Affairs Worldwide, was elected vice chair.

Bill Epperly of Chicago (IL), vice president of marketing and development for Imprezzio Marketing, was elected secretary.

Steven Nelson of Moline (IL), an attorney with Snyder, Park & Nelson, P.C. of Rock Island (IL) and a Western alumnus, had served as BOT chair for two years. He remains a member of Western's Board of Trustees. Donald (Bill) Griffin, of Macomb (IL), emeritus professor of geography and former director of the Institute for Regional and Community Studies at Western, also serves as a trustee.

D'Angelo Taylor, a political science major and broadcasting minor from Richmond, VA, who completed a term as student trustee for the 2009-2010 year, was recognized for his service to the Board.

Chris Bronson, a graduate kinesiology student from Arlington Heights (IL), was elected by the student body to serve as Western's Board of Trustees student representative from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011.
