National Fossil Expo at WIU March 30-April 1

The Mid America Paleontology Society (MAPS) 22nd Annual National Fossil Exposition XXIII will be held in the University Union Grand Ballroom on the campus of Western Illinois University Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 1.
The 2001 Expo includes a fossil show in which many MAPS members will display and swap fossils and fossil-related material with members and the general public. The skull cast of the famous Tyrannosauras Rex, "Sue," from the Chicago Field Museum will also be on display.
"This is one of the largest shows in the country that is devoted entirely to fossils," said organizer David Kaplan. "Rare specimens are always on display."
John Adrian from the University of Iowa will present a Trilobite program at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 30. A fundraising auction for the Paleontological Society Scholarship will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 31.
Exposition hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.
