2011 Fall Graduates

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Some 980 students earned academic degrees after the 2011 Fall semester at Western Illinois University. Of these, more than 135 graduates' primary attendance site was the WIU-Quad Cities campus.

Bachelor's degrees were awarded to more than 680 students. Just over 80 of these students were awarded Western's Bachelor of Arts in General Studies (formerly the Board of Trustees-Bachelor of Arts degree), which allows students to earn a regionally accredited undergraduate degree online in a way that fits their educational needs and lifestyles. Master's degrees were awarded to nearly 220 graduates, and 16 individuals earned post-baccalaureate certificates.

Two individuals earned their Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. They are Lisa M. Parker of Edelstein (IL) and Dan R. Jecks of Silvas (IL).

Academic distinction was awarded to baccalaureate graduates who achieved high grade point averages. This includes: Summa Cum Laude, 3.90 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale; Magna Cum Laude, 3.75 to 3.89 GPA; and Cum Laude, 3.6 to 3.74 GPA.
