WIU Summer Camps 2017

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University's Office of Study Abroad and Outreach is offering a series of camps and activities for Summer 2017. These camps focus on sharing knowledge in a fun and innovative way.

Participants will be able to work with faculty, academic departments and community experts to explore a wide range of subjects.

Summer 2017 will feature family favorites like science, youth leadership, art, Harry Potter, math, and a new version of robotics camp. WIU is excited to announce its new camps dedicated to the world of agriculture and to crime scene investigation (CSI).

The robotics camp will expand the component of 3D technology, adding a full day of drones and their use in mapping and air recognition.

Participants will be able to work just like detectives in the new CSI camp. With the help of faculty WIU's School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA), students will learn about forensics and crime detection.

A new agriculture camp will allow participants to learn how farmers operate and how science plays a big role in farming. This program is led by WIU School of Agriculture faculty and will walk students through what it takes to be a farmer. Registrants will have the opportunity to prepare a weather report for television, shear sheep, extract DNA and work with rain simulators.

Camp registration fees include activities, supplies, over-night lodging and meals where applicable.
