International Student Scholarship Award Winners Announced

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Center for International Studies Scholarship Committee has announced the winners of its Fall 2017 scholarships.

This year's winners include:

Bessie Meyers Scholarship $400: Kadidia Samassekou, a senior biochemistry major from Mali

Dr. In-Kon Kim Scholarship $1,000: Jinkyung Kim, a piano performance graduate student from Korea

Francis and Peggy Davern International Scholarship $325: Shweta Pradhan, a kinesiology graduate student from Nepal

Macomb Branch AAUW International Student Scholarship $500: Maria Bessmertnaya, a senior accountancy major from Russia

Redeemed Students Fellowship Scholarship $200: Olaniyi Stephen Ige, an economics graduate student from Nigeria

Ruth Hughes WESL Scholarship $800: Fangqi Yu, a junior economics major from China

Rodney and Bertha Fink International Scholarship $1,200: Kar Ee Ho, an engineering technology leadership graduate student from Malaysia

Oluseye Kolawole International Student Scholarship $500: Olufunke E. Fadahunsi, a public health graduate student from Nigeria

WEOG Awards for International Students $500 each:

- Van Thi Thanh Ha, an educational and interdisciplinary studies graduate student from Vietnam

- Tanjina N. Ahmed, a physics graduate student from Bangladesh

- Abiola Oladapo, a biology graduate student from Nigeria

- Orlando J. Riveros Figueredo, an instrumental performance music graduate student from Paraguay

- Sylvester Amoah, a physics graduate student from Ghana
