MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University College of Arts and Sciences Student Council will continue its "Last Lecture Series" Thursday, Nov. 29 with a presentation by psychology Professor Eugene Mathes.

Mathes will talk about "The Joys of College," at 7 p.m. in Morgan Hall 109. During the presentation, Mathes will reflect on his life and speak to WIU students as if it was the last lecture he was ever going to deliver.

The concept of a "Last Lecture" became nationally-recognized in 2007 when Randy Pausch gave a speech on Sept. 18, 2007, at Carnegie Mellon University. Pausch's best-selling book, also titled "Last Lecture," was chosen as WIU's First Year Experience reading selection for 2010-2011.
