Horn Field Climbing/Rapelling Tower Opens Friday

MACOMB, IL -- Looking for a little adventure? Find it at the climbing and rapelling tower at Western Illinois University's Horn Field Campus, south of Macomb. The tower opens for business Friday, March 22. Tower hours are 2-6 p.m. every Friday.

The 40-foot vertical wood structure, complete with rock-like handholds, will take the mind and body to new limits. For individual participants, the rate is $5/per person. A one-time belay training fee of $5 will be charged for first-time climbers. The tower is staffed by trained personnel.

Groups are welcome to schedule climbing dates during the week and on weekends. Sunday through Thursday and Saturday rates for 8-15 people are $80 for University groups and $100 for non-University groups with an 8-person minimum.
