WIU Offers Study Abroad Opportunity in Argentina

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University is offering a new Study Abroad program for students interested in studying culture and politics in Argentina.

Undergraduate and graduate students and WIU faculty and staff can study political science, Latin America and/or Spanish from May 11 – June 1, 2014. Enrollment is limited to 20 participants.

An informational meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. in Morgan Hall 328.

The program, open to all majors, translates into three political science credits and three Spanish credits. The political science portion will be taught by WIU faculty, while the Spanish credits will come from an Argentinian university.

The WIU program is offered in cooperation with the Universidad Católica de Córdoba in Cordóba, Argentina.

Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours previously to enroll, must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and be in good standing with Student Judicial Programs. Graduate students must be accepted into a degree program, have approval of a graduate adviser and department chair/program director and be in good standing with Student Judicial Programs.

The study opportunity is sponsored by the WIU Center for International Studies, the Department of Political Science and the Department of Foreign Languages.
