Biology Research Symposium April 4 at WIU

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Department of Biological Sciences will host its 12th annual Biology Student Research Symposium Friday, April 4 in Waggoner Hall.

The event provides students a professional venue for sharing their research with faculty, students and others by presenting oral or poster presentations.

The featured speaker for this year's event is University of Illinois Professor Jim Dalling, a tropical ecologist. He will give a seminar from 4-5 p.m. on "The Seedy Side of Plants: Plant-Fungal Interactions in the Soil Bank of a Tropical Forest."

Other events scheduled include:
• 11 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. – Oral presentations
• 2 – 3:50 p.m. – Poster presentations
• 5-5:30 p.m. – Awards ceremony

All events are open free to the community.
