WIU Honors College to Present Constitution Day Sept. 17

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Honors College will host its annual Constitution Day celebration from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17 in the Malpass Library second floor Garden Lounge.

The theme of this year's event is "Understanding the Fifth Amendment."

This year's celebration will include a panel discussion, moderated by Centennial Honors College Director Rick Hardy and including WIU Faculty:

• WIU Political Science Chair Keith Boeckelman, "The Takings Clause and Property Rights"

• Political Science Instructor Victoria Smith, "Due Process and Freedom from Self-Incrimination"

• Political Science Assistant Professor Kimberly Price, "Due Process and Freedom from Double Jeopardy"

A student research poster session, "Presentation of Cases and Justices," will run from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Garden Lounge.
