MACOMB, IL — The Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) at Western Illinois University is sponsoring a Scholastic Book Fair next week to support the WIU Preschool or the Too Little Children Foundation.

The Scholastic Book Fair runs from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, March 30-Friday, April 3 in Horrabin Hall, near room 42.

According to WIU Department of Curriculum and Instruction Professor Mary Jensen, the book fair is part of a student-led effort to support the Too Little Children Foundation, a small organization set up to benefit children in Kenya, Africa.

"This year, anyone who buys a book will be able to donate another book to either the WIU Infant/Preschool Center or to the Too Little Children Foundation, serving children in Kenya, Africa, who have lost their parents," Jensen said.

The SCEC offers special education majors the opportunity to develop leadership skills and to participate in professional development activities. SCEC is affiliated with the Council for Exceptional Children, the premier international professional organization in the field.
