Accountancy Scholarships

MACOMB, IL -- Thirty Western Illinois University accountancy students received recognition for their academic achievements and more than $12,000 in scholarship funding.
The students, listed by hometown, include:
ALEDO -- Kathy Gray, a senior, received a $1,500 Deere & Co. scholarship and a $500 department scholarship. Gray also received a $2,000 WIU College of Business and Technology scholarship. Gray is a student at the WIU-Quad Cities, Moline campus.
ALGONQUIN -- Kyle Johnson, a graduate student, was recognized for his participation on the undergraduate department's Andersen Tax Challenge team.
BURLINGTON, IA -- Crystal Jolin, a graduate student, received a $300 department of accountancy scholarship and was also recognized as the department's outstanding scholar for Spring 2002.
CAMBRIDGE -- Janet Stevens, a graduate student, was named the Outstanding Graduate Student and was also recognized for her participation on the graduate department's Andersen Tax Challenge Team.
CAMP POINT -- Misty Smith, a senior, received a $300 department scholarship.
DALLAS CITY -- Denise Hobart, a senior, received a $400 I.B. McGladrey scholarship, and received a $2,000 WIU College of Business and Technology scholarship.
DAVENPORT, IA -- Molly Mayfield, a senior, received a $1,500 Deere & Co. scholarship and a $500 Samuel Oliva scholarship. The Oliva scholarship is awarded annually to accountancy majors who demonstrate leadership through involvement in accountancy student organizations; Annette Brauer, a senior at the WIU-Quad Cities campus, was awarded a $350 Society of Accountancy scholarship; Terry Dierksen, a senior at the WIU-Quad Cities campus, was recognized for his service as president of Beta Alpha Psi, the national honors fraternity for financial information professionals.
ERIE -- Jessica McCallister, a senior, was honored for her partcipation in the IMA Case Competition in San Antonio, TX.
FITCHBURG, WI -- Hillary Predith, a senior, received a $350 Accounting Society Scholarship.
GLENDALE HEIGHTS -- David Eide, a senior, was awarded a $1,000 Samuel Oliva scholarship. The Oliva scholarship is awarded annually to accountancy majors who demonstrate leadership through involvement in accountancy student organizations.
HAWTHORN WOODS -- Justin Novotney, a senior, received a $300 department scholarship and a $2,000 WIU College of Business and Technology scholarship.
JACKSONVILLE -- Cory McGrath, a senior, was named the department's outstanding scholar for Fall 2002.
LAKE IN THE HILLS -- Megan Weisenberger, a senior accountancy and French major, received a $2,000 WIU College of Business and Technology scholarship.
MACOMB -- Crystal Witbeck, a graduate student, was recognized for her participation on the Andersen Tax Challenge graduate team; Eric Fisher, a graduate student, was recognized for his participation on the undergraduate department's Andersen Tax Challenge team.
MILAN -- David Cassini, a senior accountancy and information management major, received a $250 WIU-Quad Cities department of accountancy scholarship.
MT. PROSPECT -- Erin Flanagan, a senior, received a $500 Col. Marinda Coultas Wood scholarship. The Wood scholarship is awarded to an upper-division student from Scott, Moran, Greene and Pike counties, and to applicants who plan to sit for the CMA Certification Exam.
NAUVOO -- Abe Smith, a graduate student, was awarded a $500 BAP/KPMG scholarship.
OSWEGO -- Zachary Tongate received a $500 J. David Smith scholarship.
PECATONICA -- Nicole Hughes, a senior, received a $400 I.B. McGladrey scholarship.
QUINCY -- Heather Hubbert, a senior finance major, received a $350 Accounting Society scholarship; Kelly Kaufman, a senior, received a $1,000 Samuel Oliva scholarship. The Oliva scholarship is awarded annually to accountancy majors who demonstrate leadership through involvement in accountancy student organizations.
RACINE, WI -- Jason Schroeder, a graduate student, received a $500 George K. Krull, Jr. scholarship.
ROCK ISLAND -- Susan Griego, a graduate student, was honored as the department's outstanding senior at the WIU-Quad Cities campus and for her service as president as the Society of Accountancy/IMA at the Moline campus.
SILVIS -- Stacy Seuamsothabandith, a senior, received a $500 department scholarship.
STRONGHURST -- Amy Muhleman, a graduate student, was recognized as the outstanding graduate student for 2001-02.
ST. CHARLES -- Katie Hensel, a graduate student, was awarded a $500 BAP/KPMG scholarship.
