MACOMB, IL - The College of Arts and Sciences Student Council presents the "Last Lecture" presentation 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12 in Morgan Hall, room 109.

Professor Vin Auger from WIU's department of political science will present his "Last Lecture" titled "Expect It When You Don't Expect It! Making Room for Life's Surprises."

Auger will share reflections from his life's journey and to speak to students as if it was his last lecture ever.

This concept became nationally recognized in 2007 with Randy Pausch who gave his "Last Lecture" speech on Sept. 18, 2007 at Carnegie Mellon University. Pausch's best-selling book by the same name was chosen as WIU's First Year Experience reading selection for 2010-2011.

Since Pausch's presentation, the "Last Lecture" concept has been popularized and offered on college campuses throughout the U.S.
