WIU Department Hosting Photo Contest

MACOMB, IL – In conjunction with the annual Gabler Lecture, Western Illinois University's Department of Geography will host a photo contest. The theme of the photo contest is "Geography at WIU." Entries for the contest will be accepted no later than 11:59 p.m., Monday March 21.

The rules for the photos are as follows:
1. Digital images only. E-mailed to geography@wiu.edu, include photographer's full name, mailing address, e-mail, pictures title and location plus date taken.
2. Digital photographs must be high resolution where the longest side is a minimum of 1920 pixels. Files must be .jpg and should not exceed 5 MB.
3. Images do not need to be in "standard" image size. Contestants are not permitted to place watermarks, dates, signatures, or copyright images onto the photos. There should be no signifying mark of the photographer on the image.
4. Photos should be geographical in nature, and must be original work of the entrant. They cannot include recognizable people without a signed release
5. Entries received after 11:59 on March 21 will be disqualified.

The judging and voting of the images will be outside Tillman Hall room 312 on Tuesday, March 22. The winners shall be announced at the Gabler Lecture at 7 p.m. in the University Union Sandburg Lounge.
