"Domestic and International Cyber Threats and Responses": Homeland Security Research Program Seminar Set for March 23

The Homeland Security Research Program (HSRP) at the Western Illinois University School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) will sponsor a "Domestic and International Cyber Threats and Responses" seminar session March 23.

MACOMB, IL — The Homeland Security Research Program (HSRP) at the Western Illinois University School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) will sponsor a "Domestic and International Cyber Threats and Responses" seminar session this week.
Set to start at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 23 in Currens Hall 203, the program will feature: Robert Elliott, School of LEJA faculty assistant: Online Threats and the Impact on Schools; Jill Joline Myers, School of LEJA interim director: Law Enforcement's Role in Meeting the Nation's Cyber Security Objectives; and Dean Alexander, LEJA professor/HSRP director: Online Radicalization/Recruitment of Terrorists and Responses.
Additionally, HSRP will host several guest speakers as part of its long-running lecture series, with speakers from academia, government and the private sector.
Upcoming lectures, all to be held in Morgan Hall 109, include:
- 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31: Bruce Liebe, MacMurray College (Jacksonville, IL)
- 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 14: Dave Beeman, CPP (certified protection professional), Andy Frain Services
- 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 19: Don Kauerauf, chair, Illinois Terrorism Task Force/chief, Bureau of Preparedness and Grants Administration, Illinois Emergency Management Agency
