MACOMB, IL -- Bonnie Smith-Skripps has been named dean of the College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) at Western Illinois University through June 30, 2004, by interim Provost Eric Stiffler.

Smith-Skripps also spearheaded Western’s partnership with the Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL) regional educational laboratory, offers PREL an online master’s degree in instructional technology and telecommunications to a cohort of educational leaders in the Pacific islands.

In fiscal year 2001, under Smith-Skripps' leadership, the college's externally funded awards totaled more than $10.6 million. During the most recent fiscal year the college received 34 awards which totaled $8.6 million.

Smith-Skripps received her Ph.D. in educational administration from Southern Illinois University- Carbondale in 1993. She received her education specialist, master's and bachelor's degrees from WIU.
